At 2 Elizabeths, we welcome both new and established writers, and we are pleased to consider work
that has not yet appeared in publication. It is our goal to bring to light stories and poetry from well-known authors, as well as from emerging voices, with dignity and respect.

We also seek cover art for our bi-monthly, electronic literary magazine.

Special Writing Contest (Grand Prize $325!): This contest is different from our general call for submissions. Paying artists and writers for their work is of utmost importance to us, as our publication serves to At this time, we will pay $50 per short story or collection of poetry, $50 per piece of cover art, and $20 per piece of flash fiction or a single poem that we select to publish on our website and bi-monthly, electronic magazine. When you see and feel our vision, it is our hope that you will join our movement and grow with us.
support contributors as well as provide quality short fiction, flash fiction, and poetry for the reader to enjoy.

We accept submissions 365 days a year. Every single submission is read by the two of us, and we don't stop reading simply because we've found a story we like. There is no slush pile at 2 Elizabeths.

We maintain a minimal submission fee of $5. For special contests with larger prizes, the submission fee will vary. When you submit your story, poetry, or cover art to 2 Elizabeths, you are participating in a community that is much bigger than the sum of its parts. The reading fee allows us to pay our contributing writers and artists, maintain this publication, and to promote the work of those we publish.

We are a grassroots literary publication, with a heart for the writing community.

  1. Do you want poetry submissions to also be double spaced, or is single spacing acceptable in accordance to the formatting of the poem's layout?
